For Who? For Everyone!

Hello, hello!

The world has changed, For worse or for better?

South Africa is quite different from Botswana, but it is still great! My new companion is Elder Sjovold, (he says to pronounce it Shovel.) He is from Norway and is super cool. I am only six weeks older than him and i'm supposed to finish his last four weeks of training. But the strange thing is.... He has to train me in the area, so he knows more than i do about the work here, especially because South Africa and Botswana are very different.   But being his companion is awesome, he is really great and we get along very well.

I am sad that the little bit of Setswana that i learned and knew how to speak does not work anymore, and now i have to learn more stuff all over again. But everything is just okay. One of the weirdest things so far from being here is that there are waaaaay more white people! Like there are almost none in Botswana. Here i see them all the time and even teach some it's really strange and different.

The area here is different, i am half walking half driving, we share a car with another companionship. They get it for four days and we get it for three days. It is interesting. I got quite a bit more tan in my first two days of walking, so that's pretty cool. Though walking makes me feel more like a missionary it also does not get near as much work done.

There are some sweet people here, though i have not got to meet a lot of them yet. I am now in a branch with about 50 people who attend.  And they are all super nice.

So i found a cook book from the Johannesburg mission in my new flat that has a thanks to grandma for providing some recipes, which was petty cool. But also when i came into my flat there was a big ugly spider on the wall, and these things can move, its hard to kill them. And also, there is a picture of the only souvenirs i got from Botswana.

Polokwane is very different from what i am used to, but i know that it is where the lord wants me, and i am so happy to be here doing the very best. And i know that he is always watching over me and holding me up!

I cant waaaaiit till general conference, though i think i'll be watching it like aweek after.

Love Elder Smith!

Hey, Hey, Hey! Life is going great over here in the R of SA! One of my favorite things about serving here in The Mamelodi 2cd war...
